Balcony People

A year ago, I made the decision to move to Spain. It was a quick, almost impulsive choice, made without really thinking much about what I’d find here. And what I’ve found is a never ending stream of curiosities, ranging from the complex to the simple food, festivals, culture, and traditions. But one of the things that has caught my attention the most is seeing people on their balconies.

I live in a medium sized city, with about 125,000 inhabitants. It’s not exactly small, but the streets are narrow, and the people are very friendly, so it’s common to see things happening outside parades, small processions, or just people being people. If you have a balcony, it’s easy to step outside and watch everything unfold from the comfort of your home.

This has made me look up more often, and I’ve found myself watching those people watching others from above. There’s something magical about it. I’ve even managed to capture a few of those moments with my camera.
