Naples: Overnight at the Airport
So, like, last week I dipped to Ireland, you know, just a quick escape from the sizzling heat of Malta for a hot sec. And guess what? I finally got to live out a dream I've had since forever – seeing Muse in concert.
But here's the deal: I usually go for those budget flights, like, gotta save those bucks, ya know? So, on the way back, I had this layover in Naples, Italy, which was supposed to be like, just over an hour. Classic Ryanair move, though, my first flight got majorly delayed, and I ended up missing my next flight.
I got into Naples around 7 pm, and after realizing I was stuck, I checked out the next flight, which wasn't until 6 am the next day. Crazy, right? So, I started hunting for a nearby hotel, but here's the kicker – the close ones were all booked up, and the ones far away were charging like €250 a night. No way, José.
So, I decided to go wild and spend the night at the airport. I'd never done that before, and honestly, I was kinda pumped about it. Grabbed a bite at the food court, scoped out a semi-comfy spot, and somehow managed to crash at like 2 am. Woke up at 5 am for my flight, and you know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought. Turns out, I'm a pro at sleeping on that cold, hard airport floor.
Would I do it again? Yeah, probably. Add one more thing to the list of stuff I'd never tried before in my life. ✈️😴
