Lilo & Stitch
I consider Lilo & Stitch a good movie for kids. It's not my favorite, but there are a couple of things you can learn from that unique duo, a person rejected by her peers and an alien.
But this post isn't about giving a sermon or explaining the plot. It's about something a bit different, something somewhat personal.
Lilo & Stitch was the first movie I ever saw in a cinema, and it's one of the few memories I can recall vividly: the car ride, the mall, the movie, everything. It was 2002 and I was just a kid. The experience itself was more exciting than the film, I remember feeling cold and being amazed by how big and clear the screen was.
Before that, the only way I could watch a movie was either by waiting for it to be broadcast on TV or renting a VHS tape from the video store. That's how I watched some Disney classics and animated films during my childhood.
It's been 23 years since that moment. Of course, I have no idea how many times I've been to the movies since then, it would be a fun stat to know, but it's impossible to track. Hopefully, when my life comes to an end, I'll get to see my "End Game Stats" and find out how many times I went to the cinema.
Like I said, 23 years have passed and I've just gone to the cinema again to watch the same movie, this time in live action. And I still carry the memory of something that happened so many years ago, 10.000 kilometers away from here.
